Preparation

So...Mom and I are going on a road trip to Maine and Nova Scotia in less than a week. We'll be traveling in the Egg (short for the Easter Egg, my tiny sky blue Yaris) and bringing along my neurotic dog, Sammy. We thought that keeping a blog would be a good way to keep anyone who is interested in our progress updated. This is mostly because I'm Facebook averse, and because when I keep a blog it can be all about me.

Now we know where we'll be sleeping most of the nights that we're on the road because spontaneity doesn't work as well when you have a dog. B&B owners can be uptight - I have discovered that some don't actually allow you to stay with children (is that legal?), making dogs a non-starter.

In the meantime we're packing and doing last minute things. Car oil change? Check. Proof that Sammy is vaccinated for rabies? Check. Cut the grass and cleaned the house? Not so much. Oh well, a person can only do so much.
