Not a good day. It rained all day and we were in the car for 10 hours, with very few breaks. We were, perhaps, overly ambitious in how for we hoped to travel, but we didn't anticipate the rain or the traffic. This video was taken when spirits were still high.
We didn't arrive in New Haven for another two hours, at which point spirits were considerably lower. So low, in fact, that Mom almost yelled at a homeless man who was harassing us.
Today is looking much better. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and we walked around the campus of Yale this morning. The tragedy is that Mom doesn't understand my Gilmore Girl references. I am at Rory Gilmore's school, people. It's pretty awesome.
Also, Mom ran again this morning, even though you slackers did not provide positive reinforcement after the last run. She's clearly on a role.
Gilmore who? Keep on runnin' mom.
ReplyDeleteIn fairness about the yelling at the homeless man... I didn't really, I just considered it... and to be fair, he DID call me his Grandmother, and try to give me his business card which was, in fact a Yale University card..
ReplyDeleteNow Emily was no help at all. Those who know Emily know that she enters a kind of zombie like state when she is hungry or tired, which, as it turns out, she was both at this point.
I guess that explains our eating Chinese take out in the room in a city that has a number of BEAUTIFUL restaurants.
But despite everything, we are having so much fun... not snapping at each other at all, and laughing a good bit.
